Records, 1832-1839, of the Italian Opera Association of New York City, including the Minutes of the Board of Trustees, 1832-1839, and correspondence, financial records, and legal documents pertaining to the financing, maintenance, and eventual sale of the Association's Italian Opera House and the subsequent ownership of the property at Leonard and Church streets, 1840-1860. Included are lists of shareholders and subscribers, correspondence concerning the hire of performers and opera companies in Europe, accounts, salary lists, names of cast members, deeds, leases, mortagages, bonds, etc. Individual Association director's include: John C. Cruger, Gardiner G. Howland, Dominick Lynch, Oroondates Mauran, Rufus Prime, Robert Ray, and Samuel B. Ruggles.
